Unit 36

New Note

When articulating Eb3, use the full fingering. When slurring to it from a note lower than C3, as in measures 7 and 12 below, use the slur fingering, leaving off the first finger of the right hand.

Listen for smooth slurs. Eliminate blips between the notes by moving your fingers simultaneously. When the fingers are up, keep them relaxed and curved, close to their respective holes and keys. Remember to drop your jaw and roll out your bottom lip (slightly) for the low E to keep the pitch down and get a warm sound.

When you are comfortable playing this dance in 4/4, play it in cut time to give it a better flow.
